We know that you have many choices in selecting the best education for your child and we thank you for making PUSD your first choice.

While every child living within PUSD boundaries is assured placement in their neighborhood school, a different campus might offer a specialized program or focus that better meets the interests and needs of the individual student.

PUSD's annual winter Open Enrollment process offers families an opportunity to apply to attend a school other than their assigned neighborhood school in the next academic year.

Right Now: Online Application Window Open

January 10 — February 1, 2019

Families interested in attending a different PUSD school or program for the 2019-20 academic year can apply during Open Enrollment-School Choice, Thursday, January 10 through February 1, 2019.

Students currently living within Pasadena Unified School District and entering grades Kindergarten to 12th—who did not already pre-enroll during the priority phase of Open Enrollment-School Choice—are eligible to apply online.

Selection is by random lottery and is not based on when an application is submitted.

Families will be notified of placement and registration deadlines February 25, 2019.

Families planning to attend their school of residence do not apply—they may register directly at their assigned campus beginning March 2019.

PUSD Resident Application

This application is for families who live within PUSD boundaries. Residents of Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre are eligible to apply.

Employee Application

This application is for children of Pasadena Unified School District full-time, monthly employees only.

Please refer to Employee Projected Openings to see how many seats are expected to be available at your chosen schools.
